Mexican Treasures

It’s starting to feel like spring around here, even though we had snow blowing around yesterday.  Being in Wisconsin, spring is a brief and highly sought-after animal.  It often sneaks through in a few days right before summer appears.

Thinking about warmer weather brings back happy memories of my days in Mexico at the lovely Hacienda Mosaico enjoying warmth, bright colors, and happy conversation with a lively group of other jewelers also enjoying absorbing new skills from our teacher Susan Lenart.  The cover photo features a piece of tile I found in the street and happily incorporated into a necklace in Sterling silver.

Now that I’ve moved into my new studio, I am finally beginning to enjoy the benefits of my new skills.  I’ve finally managed to restock the three galleries I have work in:  VIVA Gallery in Viroqua where I live, River City Gallery in nearby La Crosse, and Oh! Arts in Mauston, Wisconsin.  That means that I can finally begin to put new work onto my own website!  Please take a look and see if anything strikes your fancy!  Here are a few examples.

Triangular Sterling silver necklace with surface decorations This necklace features on-surface design techniques learned in Mexico.

Sterling silver triangle ring with dangle on hand This ring is adjustable and features a shape that graces the hand.

Brooch of Sterling silver, buffalo horn, and aquamarine This piece is a marriage of Sterling silver with buffalo horn and aquamarine.

This piece features cultured pearls combined with rhodolite gems set in Sterling silver.

Speaking of my new studio, here is a picture!  It’s lovely to have all my tools and bits and pieces in the same place!  Just a few more adjustments and everything will be perfect.

I hope you are all enjoying a lovely spring!
